My husband and I took 'the wrong road' and discovered this wonderful place to stay. This castle has been in the owner's family for centuries - was built in the 10th century. The newly converted apartments are charming, comfortable queen size bed, beautiful and functional antique furniture, clean and functional bathroom and kitchen. The ceilings are very high, painted with frescos. It is on a picturesque hillside, overlooking miles and miles of Tuscan beauty. There is a small restaurant on the property, and another 5 minutes away by foot.

The owners are wonderful and helpful. The price is very reasonable. This is a great getaway place - it's no more than 20 minutes south of Siena, and it's pin-drop quiet. There are beautiful gardens outside. You can go mingle with the tourists all day, then come back to complete serenity and comfort at night. We highly recommend Castello di Grotti.

We too happened to come across the surprising landscapes of the Crete regions South of Siena. And complete delight overcame us when we arrived at Castello di Grotti. Our stay provided an experience of great emotional impact: silence, huge vistas, outside; the refined elegance of interior decorators who cherish their profession, within.
Au revoir: we plan on our next family reunion to take place in Grotti!

Cari ospiti,

We want to thank our hosts for the wonderful time we have been having in Grotti. Much of the success of the holiday is to be ascribed to the friendly atmosphere they have created! Arrivedecci...

Dear All
we have had a wonderful holiday in Saturnia. Your hospitality made the whole difference. We want to come back in the autumn and travel to the Monte Amiata: we are told that the colours are worth the trip.
Thank you again!

The autumn colours make the valley of the Albegna river incredibly picturesque. Our stay has been wonderful, thanks to our hosts' attentiveness. No one should miss Pitigliano - Little Jerusalem - nor the Kosher wine from the Cantina Sociale di Pitigliano!
Ciao, three enthusiastic visitors

After spending our Christmas holidays in Saturnia, we will come back every year godpermitting . . .
